Rhizome’s Weak Signals features artists and writers grappling with the near future of political radicalization with speculative narratives and research from the edges of network culture.

 

The design balances irreverence with manifesto-like intentionality. Images are excised, expanded, and exported; they are then shrunk, stretched, and (re)set. Text is indexed, reappropriated, and recontextualized. These elements were used to create a visual tone retro-prospective and inherently at odds with itself. Systems created would ultimately be disrupted in one form or another — nothing would be as it was.
